Talking Fish is our 38′ Topaz Express, powered by twin Detroit turbo diesels, overhauled in September 2021.This superbly set up boat is equipped with Penn International and Shimano tackle, full electronics and all safety and communication gear. Comfortably seating 7 persons in the shade, it features a roomy cockpit with full size fighting chair and double spreader outriggers. The cabin has a V-berth and a private head with shower. Bring your music and we’ll hook it up to the speakers.
Randy has fished the waters off Tamarindo since the mid 1970’s and is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced captains on this coast. Mates Max and Javier speak English and are professional, efficient and entertaining.
OUTCAST

OutCast is our 27′ Dusky, powered by twin 250 hp Cummins diesels, overhauled in December 2019. The boat has a tower, fighting chair and outriggers and a spacious cockpit. Lots of seating in the shade and the 11’+ beam make for a stable and comfortable ride. The cabin has a head. The boat is equipped with all electronics and communication gear. Tackle is Penn International and Shimano. Bring your music and we’ll hook it up to our speakers.
Captain Arturo Rosales has been fishing these waters since the 1990’s. He and mate Javier Barrantes speak English and love to fish. They make an excellent, efficient team.
To keep clients and crews safe, we provide sanitizing gel and hand soap. We have Lysol spray and Clorox wipes as well as extra masks. We clean and disinfect the whole boat and fishing equipment daily, including rods, reels, fighting belts, coolers, hand rails and handles, fighting chair, buckets, hoses, gaffs, knives etc. Everything on the boat will have been disinfected when you arrive and will also cleaned throughout the day.
PLEASE NOTE: Tamarindo Sportfishing is licensed by Costa Rica’s Tourist Board, (ICT license # 424) and this exempts us from the full 13% Value Added Tax until July 1, 2023.
We are fully insured. Safety equipment includes life rafts, flares, VHF radios, cell phones, anchors and life jackets.
Our boats’ navigation permits allow them a 40 mile radius, the maximum distance given to sportfishing boats in Costa Rica for day trips – we will get you to where the fish are!
All tackle is included. The price is for the boat, not per person.
Beers, soft drinks, iced tea and bottled water are provided on all charters, as well as bait and ice.
Half days are 5 hours and include snacks and fruit.
Full days are 9 hours, 3/4 day trips are 7 hours and include a complete box lunch.
Crew tips are not included, a 10-20% cash tip is customary and much appreciated by the crew.
